We were asked by the Great North Air Ambulance to assist with the evacuation of a climber who had fallen whilst climbing at the Wainstones crags above Great Broughton. As we reached the incident site a Sea-King from RAF Leaconfield arrived and we assisted as the injured climber was winched to safety and flown to James Cook University Hospital for treatment.
The incident lasted 2 hours and involved about 20 of us.
